Initial Stage

The society has been started in the 1st quarter of 2021 during the peak time of the 2nd wave of COVID-19 at village Jara, which is under Chandrakona-1 no block of Paschim Medinipur district with the name of ‘Together We Can’. After working in different social activities for a periods of almost one year, organization certified with society registration (under the West Bengal society Registration Act.1961) with the name of ‘Tari Social Welfare Society‘. The name was changed due to existence of another NGO with the same name (Together We Can).

Fight Against COVID-19 :

The initial aim of the society was to help the COVID-affected patients as well as economically backward families of the locality. Our work was telecasted on Republic & TV9 Bangla during that time. The main work was done at that period of time was as follows,

  1. Providing medicines, and nutrients to the patient.
  2. Providing necessary commodities to the COVID-affected and economically backward families.
  3. Arranging ambulances and oxygen for the needy patients.
  4. Sanitising the local area and COVID-affected patients’ houses.
  5. Organising COVID awareness program at the local market with the help of Sub-Inspector of Ramjibanpur PS, Medical officer of Jara PHC, Jt. BDO of Chandrakona 1-no block, Head nurse of Ghatal sub-divisional hospital, and many important persons.
  6. Arrange of relocating the local market to the Jara High School ground which is less congested than the original place.
  7. Providing face masks, and sanitizers to the local people along with an awareness campaign with milking and pestering at regular intervals.

Disinfecting Local Area:

We all know, that in monsoon season, proper maintenance of the drain, gutters, etc. is required. Otherwise, mosquitoes can start their lives in those places which can lead to diseases like malaria, dengue, etc. By keeping these things in mind, our members spread disinfectants like bleaching powder, phenyl, etc. around the locality on 18th July,2021.

Sanitary Napkin Awareness Program:

The main purpose of this program was to increase awareness among women about menstrual hygiene in rural  and tribal areas. Besides, society distributed some sanitary napkins to economically backward audiences. The program was started on the 7th of June,2021 at Senke village of Paschim Medinipur district. After that, the female brigade of the society carried out many such awareness programs. The details of the program and some snapshots are as follows,

Independence Day Celebration :

Independence is our pride. We are able to do such social work because our country is independent. Like other organizations, TOGETHER WE CAN also celebrated Independence Day in 2021. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration:

Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore arranged a ceremony to celebrate Raksha Bandhan to strengthen the bond of love and togetherness which is one of the integral part of the development of the society. ‘Together We Can‘ also celebrated Rakhi with the common people of Srinagar, Paschim Medinipur on 22nd August 2021.
